Have any of you messed with the Mystic Forge?

Apparently you can get exotic recipes out of it among other stuff.

Yes, I made myself this last night:

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mystic_Claymore

It takes 50 skill points, 30 mystic coins, and 5 each of the base weapon items (5 orichalcum greatsword hilts, 5 orichalcum greatsword blades).

Here's a full list of the Mystic Weapons:

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mystic_weapon

The weapons themselves aren't any better than the standard Pearl weapons (and you don't get any choice on the stats they come with). They do come pre-equipped with a sigil which is nice--and the skins are definitely nicer than the standard Pearl skins (they are the lowest items you can get with particle effects--my sword has an electric current running through it).

A bunch of other recipes can be found here:

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mystic_ ... ther_Items

I haven't decided if I'm going to try for any of those or if I'm just going to start saving towards the legendary.

As a reminder, none of these items have stats that are any better than the normal crafted weapons; they are all about look (that, by the way, includes the legendaries).

So basically, if you're going to invest in any of them, you'd better know you like the look.

There s lots of other stuff that comes outta the forge.. not just mystic items.. What I'm interested in personally is how to make
satchel recipes. Armor satchels are full sets of armor instead of each individual piece.

Those recipes are currently screwy in that they are taking more mats than making each of the items individually; they're supposed to be fixed soon. That sounds more like a convenience thing though than anything else.

yeah i know.. but they will be fixed and when they do I would like to be in the position to make money off them.

Plus you only need to figure out the main recipe instead of every piece so if you don't need the xp or want to waste the mats its a good way to discover the highend stuffs
